The Police Department can be reached at the above phone number during normal Municipal Building business hours, as follows: Monday through Thursday 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., and Fridays 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. If calling to reach an officer outside of normal business hours for a Non-Emergency, please contact the Wood County Dispatch Center at (715)421-8700. In case of an emergency, please dial 9-1-1.
Services
The Grand Rapids Police Department is a full service police department. The Police Department conducts investigations on misdemeanors and criminal matters, enforces traffic laws and enforces town ordinances. There are two full time administrative assistants located in the Municipal Building Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Friday 8:00 a.m. to noon, to assist the public. These assistants are in contact with the on duty officer and can assist citizens with law enforcement matters. After hours the Wood County Dispatch will assist citizens with any help they may need. The Grand Rapids Police Department is also involved with many other community policing areas such as: neighborhood watch, vacant home checks and business checks.
Duties
The goal of the Town of Grand Rapids Police Department is to enhance the quality of life for residents and visitors through effective crime reduction, preservation of peace, and responsiveness to social changes in the community. We strive to focus on proactive policing and crime prevention.
