Flight Operations Alert 

The annual 2024 Northern Lightning exercise will result in increased flight activity over central Wisconsin the weeks of August 5-9 and 12-16 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. each day. Aircraft flying above 30,000 ft are authorized by the FAA to operate at supersonic speeds within the Volk Military Operating Area, which may be audible at ground level.
